"Mainer"

There is some validity to this {verb} "Mainer" and I'm beginning to understand it. Every time I've had a work related event in Maine, as that's the only reason I've visited Maine in the past years, I am so pleasantly surprised by the kindness.  

People are helpful, friendly, pretty down to earth, they seem organic, and like they have a different appreciation for life. I love all the Chevys and Fords I see, especially the ones hauling vintage campers like the 60's & 70's style teardrop made by Airstream. It seems people flock to Maine for their love of nature and the land. To slow down and take a fresh breath of green air. 

For those folks residing in Maine, the ones I've met hold true to my now definition of a "Mainer" . Kind, natural, polite, lovers of the land. Even though I live in Massachusetts, I feel like I'm PART "Mainer". 

And how would we define a "massachusettser"???? Hmmmmm that's a blog for a rainy day.

Any day now

Finally today the birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and I even caught a glimpse of something green in the distance. Everyone was happy too which is a rarity in these parts.  

Any day now I'm ready to wake up to spring here to stay. And the bustle of summer to be back... Most people start planning a trip to the Cape...visiting friends in  Hyannis perhaps? If so, here's the perfect gift: a custom chart pillow.

I always thought Valentines Day was when the guy gets the girl a romantic gift. Times have changed! 

If you must get him something, here are a few ideas.

For the traveling man. I toiletry (aka shave) kit with a cool chart or map design of his favorite destination.

For the homebody with a terrific man-cave. Maybe he loves sports...maybe he misses his home town. Design a pillow with a sporting arena or a map of where he grew up. 

play time

One good thing about every day after dec 21 is it stays lighter a minute longer each day. And that's about the only good thing until summer is here.  

Luckily I get to look at cool maps and charts of warm and sometimes exotic areas of the world. This keeps me inspired and focused on why I work so hard: play time. Aka fun in the sun!!  

I have my heart set on a Bahamas trip this year, but hawaii doesn't sound too bad either! 

World traveler

I love California. Specifically Southern California. Every town on that coast that I've visited, I've fallen in love with. This one in particular, Laguna Beach. I love everything about it. From the salty air and surfers ;) to the little vegan stand and cool coffee houses. 

As I look out my window while the snow falls sideways, I think how awesome it would be to have an Airstream, stock it full of my Not For Navigation chart and map collection of Southern California towns and hit the road selling with my 2 Larry's and our 2 Peke pups. Thus, #whereiwanttobe

Beautiful by nature

What more could you ask for?? Miami cityscape, a rainbow, salty air, sunshine, Not For Navigation cushions..and on this sailing vessel Sabrosura - amazing people, laughs, adventure, stories, and of course, champagne. 

Ahhhhhhh paradise. 

Road trip

Craving the PCH and a convertable today. Stuck in frigid Massachusetts so I'll visit California in my dreams tonight. 

I hope Gladstones in Malibu is in it, along with las brisas and the stand in Laguna beach, a taco an any dive looking taco stand, the Lowes in Santa Monica, hotel del on coronado and pretty much every where from San Diego to San Francisco.

Magic

All the maps and charts we design our products with are beautiful in their own right. This one of Magic Island in Hawaii is particularly intriguing as I wonder the why's of how this place gained this name. 

Hawaii is certainly a magical place...is this island especially magical?  

Guess I'll have to go there to find out!!!  

Beach baby

This baby's toes need hot sand! Bahamian sand to be exact. He loves the water and he's going to LOVE the beach! 

Which island should we visit first?  

New Year's rezzy???

We aren't thinking the usual resolutions....exercise, eat healthy, quit smoking... We want to go somewhere.

Where do we want to go? The Bahamas...the Exumas to be exact. One of my most life inspiring friends speaks volumes of this area of the world and I NEED to go.

I'll snuggle this pillow until I'm basking in the hot Bahamian sun.

Welcome aboard!

Naval Base San Diego, sometimes called 32nd Street Naval Station, is the largest base of the United States Navy on… the west coast of the United States, in San Diego, California. 

This custom pillow captures that area!  

Seaward ho! Hang the treasure! It's the glory of the sea that has turned my head.

Treasure island... There must be a lot of them! This one near Florida's St. Petersburg beach looks like coral in the map design featured here.
